Celebrating over 20 years of action-packed summers, the Olympic Adventure Camp in Düsseldorf is the perfect opportunity for your family to take part in over 52 different types of sports and activities while having fun and making new friends.

It’s free, requires no pre-registration, non-binding, and is inclusive for all children between the ages of 6 and 21 (but if you ask me, it’s a great place to be with the even smaller ones too – there are tons of activities for the little ones as well 😉).

Here’s everything you need to know about the Olympic Adventure Camp and why it’s a must-do for families living in/around Düsseldorf. ⬇️

What is The Olympic Adventure Camp All About?

The Olympic Adventure Camp (OAC) is an annual summer camp organized by the Düsseldorf Sports Office (Sportamt). It is an inclusive way for all children and teenagers (both with and without disabilities) to stay active, learn some new sports, and enjoy their last week before the back-to-school season starts!

TIP: Don’t worry, it’s not all about the kids here in Düsseldorf, Sport im Park is a similar opportunity offered by the city for both young and old to try out different workout classes around the city and in the most beautiful parks.

But it’s not just about sports; it also incorporates creative workshops, team-building games, and educational sessions that will help promote their personal development and teamwork. With the help of professional coaches and close supervision, the kids have the opportunity to test out a range of activities and sports in a safe and inclusive environment while gaining valuable tips to help them improve their skills and pick out the sports they love the most.

What Types of Sports and Activities Will There Be?

Your children need to be able to access a multitude of sports to open their minds and imaginations and see what their next sport could be. For example, until I took my son at the age of 5 rock climbing for the first time, I had no idea that’d be “his sport”. Most of us just naturally lean towards the basics – football, handball, hockey, etc. (which we have plenty of in the city by the way) but how about we jump outside of our comfort zones today?!
