Helen Deine Fotografin

Helen is actually my inspiration for this blog post. I had such an incredible photoshoot with her recently that I just had to share it!

Helen somehow manages to work her magic with a crowd and blend into the scene to make any photo shoot a stress-free and really fun experience (which is not always the case when it comes to capturing special moments, I’m sure many of you know). Instead of staging every shot, she encourages you to simply be yourself and allows the natural moments to unfold.

Helen offers personal branding shoots, portrait shoots, lifestyle shoots, event photography, and much more!

My family and I did a casual afternoon with Oma shoot (event photography).

Helen is located in Oberkassel.

You can find her here:

Emilie Lowey Photography

Emilie is the queen of capturing the moments in family photo shoots. As a mom of two herself, she has a great understanding of how to keep the kids engaged and smiling (bubbles and gummy bears were the highlight of our shoot with her).

Emilie Lowey English Photographer Dusseldorf

She also occasionally hosts mini photoshoots where you can just pop by on location, snap a few photos, and create everlasting memories for a special occasion or just for your memory books. 💛

She’s also multilingual (French, English, German) which makes it even easier to communicate with her and the kids at the same time!

You can find her here:

Susanne Werding Photography

Susanne is a super sweet English/German speaking photographer in Düsseldorf focused on people, families, lifestyle, reportage, and business photography. I had the pleasure of meeting her during a Libelle photoshoot, as she’s also the photographer behind their family portrait features in every magazine edition. Can highly recommend her!

Susanne is located in Bilk.

👋 Hey, I’m Jenna!

The voice behind Life in Düsseldorf

I’m a German Canadian who moved to Düsseldorf over a decade ago, and like many of you, I had a million questions when I arrived. From trying to figure out how health insurance works in Germany to wondering where the best bakery is (spoiler: it’s Bülle 🍞), I’ve been through it all.

So I created Life in Düsseldorf to help make your transition smoother — whether you’re moving to Germany, already living here, or just curious about life abroad. My mission? To make you feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more at home.
