  • 8 of the Best Pet Supply Shops in Düsseldorf

Let’s not forget about those little fluffy loved ones we dragged with us on our Dusseldorf journey because we were too sad to leave without them. Here are the 9 best pet shops in Dusseldorf!

Haven’t had the chance to bring your pets over to Germany yet? Here’s a post that might help you: How to Bring Your Pets to Germany.

While I’m no pet owner myself (at least not yet), Arun Raj is here from howtoleashtrainapuppy.com to share some of the best pet shops in Dusseldorf with you.

Local Tip: If you’re in need of an animal sitter, Betreut.de is where you will find them all! You can choose your sitter based on what they offer (overnight care, training, transportation, walks, etc.)

Are you Googling “the best pet shops in Düsseldorf”? Looking for your fluffy friend’s next outfit? Stocking up on treats? Searching for their special diet food? Or just looking for any one of the other hundred things your pet might need (training equipment, puppy beds, vaccinations, training, co2 filling, veterinarians, carrier bags, entertainment, care, hygiene, etc.)

Below, you’ll find a list of specialized pet shops including their addresses. If you’d rather shop online, click on the web address, and happy shopping!

Dinner for Cats and Dogs

Practical Tip: Do you have insurance for your pets yet? In Germany particularly, it’s very important to consider getting pet insurance. This would cover any incidents in regard to breaking or injuring a person, place, or thing. You can compare your insurance options and prices online or you can go with a popular choice like GetSafe (it’s in English!) and AXA (not in English, but highly reputable). Dog liability is also highly recommended. For more information on pet insurance, you can read the full guide here!

Are there any other pet shops in Dusseldorf you’d add to the list? There are new shops popping up all over town so in order to keep this post relevant, please share your tips in the comment section below.

A huge thank you to Nina Liza for contributing to the updated version of this post.

👋 Hey, I’m Jenna!

The voice behind Life in Düsseldorf

I’m a German Canadian who moved to Düsseldorf over a decade ago, and like many of you, I had a million questions when I arrived. From trying to figure out how health insurance works in Germany to wondering where the best bakery is (spoiler: it’s Bülle 🍞), I’ve been through it all.

So I created Life in Düsseldorf to help make your transition smoother — whether you’re moving to Germany, already living here, or just curious about life abroad. My mission? To make you feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more at home.
