It’s finally Friday afternoon!! After a long week where working and stress were the key protagonists of your days, it is about time to think for yourself! It’s time to find out where you can find the best spots for wine in Düsseldorf!
And what is better than a glass of wine and some comfy food to relax and start planning an exciting weekend? Well…. Nothing! And don’t feel guilty about extra calories…it is Friday! That’s what Mondays are made for… to start a new diet! (even if it has been proven that a glass of red wine has the same effects of one hour at the gym).
Now, you have only to think about whom you want to share this wonderful plan: maybe alone, with some friends or with your love. In any case, local expat and wine lover, Giulia, is going to suggest some places in Düsseldorf to make your after-work drink a little more special.
Here’s where you’ll find some of the best wine bars and wine in Düsseldorf
Bazzar
Where: Heinrich-Heine-Allee 53, 40213 Dusseldorf
Website: www.bazzar.de
This place is perfect for an after-work with friends! Bazzar is located in the city center, Altstadt, and it is open every day, all day long. This bar is quite famous for its brunch and fresh coffee, however, you can also find a small, but well-thought-of wine selection. Matching wine with good food is also crucial, that’s why I would recommend trying the option “Für Zwei”, where a gourmet cheese plate is served together with two cups of wine to be shared with a friend. Gossip has never been so pleasant!
Bar Chérie
Where: Kurze Str. 2, 40213 Düsseldorf
Website: BAR Chérie on Facebook
Maybe your boy felt a bit neglected because of your busy schedule during the week. Is it true? Well then, there is no better place to be forgiven than at Bar Chérie. This authentic place is located in the heart of the city and it is well-known for its magic atmosphere and delicious Flammkuchen. The only thing to do is sit, relax, and raise a glass to the weekend!
The Alchemist
Where: Graf-Adolf-Str. 61, 40210 Dusseldorf
Website: www.alchemist-bistro.de
Not too far for Köningsalle, The Alchemist is the place to have a relaxing time for yourself. All you need to do is enter, sit at the bar, and trust the innkeeper’s advice. You can delight yourself with good wine, tasty drinks, and fine food. Mood lighting and jazz music will be the best mates of the night.
Of course, there are many other amazing places for an after work. If you want to suggest one, please write it in the comment box below. If you’d rather find a wine bar in Düsseldorf that suits your personality, I’ve come up with the ultimate test for that too! Or simply just head to your local grocery store and pick up a bottle of wine to enjoy while sitting along the Rhine River.
Please do not heavy drink: wine is to taste, not to waste!
Yours sincerely,
Giulia
OH! PS: If you’re a wine lover and you haven’t been to the Mosel Valley yet, you’re in for a treat!

I would add
Bistro Zicke – behind the Rheinpromenade, french-style cafe with lots of wine choice and small plates.
Sansibar by Breuninger – more upmarket but good wine list and great to sit outside on a sunny afternoon.
Both amazing places! Great suggestions Pantelis!????
I would add 2 to this:
Weinlokal – just off Carlsplatz – they have a brilliant “wine flight” concept where you pick your wine type (eg. new world red, German white) and you get 3 x 0.1l glasses to try – it’s a great way to discover new wine
Eiskeller right next to Kunstakademie – great selection and very reasonably priced
Thank you so much for these wonderful additions Lisa! ????????
Eiskeller is somewhere I’ve always enjoyed.
