When we put together the “Sports Teams in Düsseldorf Guide“, we mentioned every sports team but tennis, why? Tennis is a huge sport in Düsseldorf. The sheer number of tennis club’s in the area proved that they definitely deserve their own post mention.

So, if you’re keen on picking up a little tennis while you’re here in the city or continuing to become the next tennis pro of Germany, here is a list of just a few of the best tennis clubs and courts in the area.

The one thing worth mentioning is that here in Düsseldorf, tennis is played in a club. You might find public soccer pitches, badminton courts, and ping pong tables, but you’d be lucky if you found a place to play tennis in public. In order to use these courts, you’re going to have to join the club.

Thanks to Vanessa B., a wonderful reader of Life in Düsseldorf, we’ve discovered this great website where you can actually punch in your address and find the closest tennis courts near you (because there are certainly a lot more than 15 in Düsseldorf)!

If you don’t want to join a club and would rather test it out first, give them a call and ask if there are alternatives to joining the club immediately, perhaps a trial period or free test is worth it. Alternatively, you can visit Cosmo Sports where they offer camps, courses, and court rentals.
