Düsseldorf’s beloved coffee shop, Rösterei Vier – The Commonage or RVTC , known for its exceptional brews and cozy atmosphere just took their coffee game to the next level. They are now roasting all of their coffee in-house, a move that has made their already delicious coffee taste that much better, and simultaneously deepening their commitment to sustainable sourcing.

In-House Roasting: A Coffee Lover’s Dream

RVTC designed their new space to optimize their in-house roasting process. With larger facilities, they’re able to roast each batch of beans in-house, making the coffee as fresh as possible. The selection of coffees has grown as well, ranging from light, fruity brews to deeper, bold roasts that are a must-try for all coffee connoisseurs.

What we love about RVTC is their dedication to building direct relationships with farmers. They source their beans from farms across the globe, supporting fair and sustainable practices, which not only provide high-quality coffee but also make a positive impact on the communities growing these beans.

Sustainable Sourcing: More Than Just a Buzzword

By working closely with farms from around the world, they’re able to select beans that not only meet high-quality standards but also support long-term environmental sustainability.

Their focus on sustainable sourcing ensures that every cup you enjoy contributes to a more responsible coffee industry. In addition, RVTC’s eco-conscious approach extends to their café operations, with initiatives aimed at reducing waste and promoting reusable options for customers.

Pro Tip: Bring your own bag or use an old RVTC bag for a euro off per kilo of beans.

A Cozy and Productive Coworking Space

The laid-back yet productive environment makes RVTC the perfect spot for anyone looking for a cozy corner to focus. With plenty of seating, reliable Wi-Fi, and a menu full of coffee and treat options, RVTC is the perfect co-working space for locals (and for me too)!

Discover Your Perfect Roast with Their Coffee Quiz

Not sure which roast to try? RVTC has made it easy to find your perfect cup with their fun and interactive coffee quiz! Whether you’re a seasoned coffee drinker or new to the world of specialty brews (like me 😃), the quiz guides you through a few simple questions about your flavor preferences and coffee habits. At the end, you’ll get personalized recommendations from their selection of in-house roasted beans.

After taking the quiz, I was recommended the Italo Pop and Jenna’s was Luis Sánchez Perdomo Lpet.

Beyond Coffee: Barista Courses and Merchandise

If you’re looking to learn more about the art of coffee, RVTC offers barista and latte art courses for coffee enthusiasts of all levels. These hands-on workshops are a great way to immerse yourself in the craft of making the perfect cup, guided by RVTC’S experts themselves.

And don’t forget, you can take a little piece of RVTC home with you! They offer a broad range of merchandise, including beautifully designed coffee mugs, bags of freshly roasted beans, and loose leaf tea for those who prefer a different kind of brew.

Two Locations, Endless Charm

With locations at Wallstrasse in the old city and at Immermannstrasse, RVTC is the place to be for coffee lovers. It is perfect to grab a quick latte or settle in for a relaxed afternoon. And while their main focus may be on roasting, they haven’t forgotten about the café experience. Their spaces remain as inviting as ever, with lots of space to spread out and relax.

👋 Hey, I’m Jenna!

The voice behind Life in Düsseldorf

I’m a German Canadian who moved to Düsseldorf over a decade ago, and like many of you, I had a million questions when I arrived. From trying to figure out how health insurance works in Germany to wondering where the best bakery is (spoiler: it’s Bülle 🍞), I’ve been through it all.

So I created Life in Düsseldorf to help make your transition smoother — whether you’re moving to Germany, already living here, or just curious about life abroad. My mission? To make you feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more at home.
