For parents in Düsseldorf, finding time to exercise can be challenging, especially when finding gyms with childcare is so difficult. I actually use this as my excuse not to work out. 🤣🤫

But thankfully, many gyms in Düsseldorf offer childcare services, allowing parents to work out without the hassle of finding a babysitter.

So, here’s a list of the best gyms with childcare in Düsseldorf, where fitness meets family-friendly convenience. 🤩

John Reed Fitness (Düsseldorf Arcaden)

In many JOHN REED Fitness clubs, you’ll find their Kids Club which offers childcare services free of charge and available to GOLD members or SILVER members who signed up before October 1, 2022.

*In Düsseldorf, only the Düsseldorf Arcaden location offers childcare.

The JOHN REED Kids Club is open to children aged 6 months to 6 years. Advance registration is required, either via the app, phone, or directly in the club, with a six-child limit per two-hour session to ensure quality care. Hours vary by club, so make sure you check directly with the club’s staff. The childcare area is separate, secure, and designed to meet children’s needs, featuring a kid-friendly bathroom with a sink and changing table. Activities include supervised play, crafts, reading, and dress-up, creating a fun and engaging environment for your child.

Location: Friedrichstrasse 133, 40217 (Düsseldorf Arcaden)

Becycle Düsseldorf

If pilates is more your style, Becycle in Düsseldorf also offers childcare free of charge! If you plan to bring your kiddos, make sure to let them know in advance via email ([email protected]) with your child’s name and age.

Location: Oststraße 54-56, 40211 Düsseldorf

Other Options:

While there currently aren’t many options for standard gyms that offer childcare, an alternative option might be to take part in some postnatal yoga with your babies, or join in on a Yoga Monster class for example, there are tons of options around Düsseldorf.

* Important: Many other older blog posts on the web mention that Holmes Place (specifically their Seestern and Provinzialplatz) locations offer childcare. I have called all their locations and this is no longer the case. Alma Oberkassel has also since paused their Kids Clubs, but you’re more than welcome to stay updated on their website. Fitness First (The Lighthouse location) also no longer offer childcare.

Finding a gym with childcare in Düsseldorf can be the perfect solution for those of you looking to stay fit, but if your kids are a bit older, have you considered actually working out together? There are so many awesome sports clubs in Düsseldorf that make this possible. My son loves rock climbing with me, many of our friends play tennis in Düsseldorf with their kids, and my absolute favorite is Sport im Park which is hosted by the city, free of charge and open to people of all ages, with/without disabilities.

Now get out there and work on that bod, no excuses! 🤣
