Right now, we will do just about anything to keep busy during this quarantine. Staying at home can put a damper on daily activities, but there are so many other free home workouts to get your body moving even in the confines of your home or apartment. It is so important right now to take care of ourselves and make sure we are maintaining some sense of normalcy.
For me, and for many, having a morning workout sets the tone for my day of working from home and gets me into a routine.
All over the world, fitness instructors and studios are offering classes, videos, and workouts that people can do from home and many require no equipment. From pilates to yoga, to kickboxing, just about every workout is out there. This is also an awesome opportunity to try something new or test out a different workout. I personally have been loving all of these awesome workouts I have access to!

Here are some great free home workouts to find online at the moment:
Take advantage of free trials and discounts!
Since recent gym closures, many fitness studios are turning to alternative ways to keep their usual customers part of their community. Free-trials and discounted rates have been popping up all over and are a great way to stick with the workout you know and love. I recently subscribed to one of my favorite workouts based in New York called CONBODY and I can stream them anywhere for $9/month!
Check out the full list of fitness gyms in Düsseldorf, many of them are also offering free trials and online classes now!
TIP: If your gym isn’t offering any current alternatives, or you’d like to switch gyms and are reaching the end of your contract, Aboalarm is a website that writes the cancellation email and sends it for you!

Hop on Instagram and take part in LIVE workouts!
This is probably one of the best platforms and one of my favorite platforms where you can find some great workouts. Right now, fitness instructors are using IGTV and live stories so people can follow along with their workouts.

Pilates-inspired workouts with @patrickmcgrath
-
Boxing workouts with @doyourumble
-
Yoga workouts with @lululemon
-
Yoga sweat sessions with @y7yoga
It is great because I can save the videos for whenever I am ready to work out and it feels like I am in a guided class! Some instructors are even offering a class schedule on Instagram LIVE so you can get a workout in whenever it works best for you but you still feel like you are attending a class at its specific time.
Another way to use Instagram is to find your favorite fitness inspiration and check out their page for their at-home workouts. Some of my favorites are:
They write out their workout in the description so you can see how each exercise is done but go at your own pace. You can browse through Instagram and find some other ways to get a workout that suits your lifestyle!
If you want to support a local account, Corona Aktivisten Düsseldorf is also hosting daily LIVE workouts!
Browse YouTube, you’ll find millions of free workout videos here!
YouTube is another great place to look for workouts if you love working along with an instructor. For years I have turned to YouTube when I don’t feel like leaving home but sneaking a quick workout in. Most videos are between 20-30 minutes and are very easy to follow along. The YouTube community has really perfected the apartment workout for when you don’t want to disturb your neighbors downstairs (which is great for Düsseldorf)!
My recommendation:
-
Maddie Lymburner, aka MadFit, because of her apartment-friendly workouts and great energy.
There are so many others that you can find all over Youtube, so get creative!
