Düsseldorf might be an urban city, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any amazing camping opportunities around the area to kick back, relax, and roast some Bratwurst! There are actually quite a few nestled in the woods and sitting along the water’s edge, why not give it a try this summer?
Before you head off, you might need to stock up on a few camping supplies, am I right? Try the sporting goods store Decathlon (basically the IKEA of sporting goods). You’ll thank me later.

Camping Unterbacher See Nord | Düsseldorf
Amidst the lake and the woods is a 6,5-hectare camping spot in Unterbach, Düsseldorf. You can grab the internet there, rent bikes and boats, or even take a sailing lesson. Every morning the reception orders fresh bread, croissants, and coffee to sell to their visitors. There is also a kiosk on the property.

Rheincamping | Meerbusch
Rheincamping is a seasonal campsite in Meerbusch located right along the Rhine River and in the middle of a conservation area. They have a delivery of fresh bread every morning and a kiosk, restaurant and beach bar when you’re ready to eat. They also offer a number of sporting activities on location.

Campingplatz @ Strandterrasse | Dormagen
Directly along the water’s edge amidst the nature reserve, is the Strandterrasse campsite. This kid-friendly spot offers up a huge playground for the children and an awesome snack bar.

Freizeitdomizil Entenfangsee | Mülheim an der Ruhr
This wonderful little area in Mülheim an der Ruhr is located directly along the Entenfang Lake in the middle of nature across 14 hectares of land. There are plenty of places to hike, cycle and take part in outdoor activities. There is also a restaurant, café, and kiosk there for your convenience, along with available mobile home parking spaces.

Rheinblick Campingplatz | Monheim
At Rheinblick Campingplatz, there’s no doubt that you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful summer sunsets along the Rhine River. Across 14-hectares, there are more than 400 campsites and a wonderful restaurant with amazing views and fresh bread.

Am Tonhallenufer | Düsseldorf
At the Tonhallenufer along the Rhine River in Düsseldorf, there are 30 parking spaces for mobile homes and campers. While there are no toilets or eating facilities, you’re very close to the Düsseldorf Altstadt and not too far from a local grocery store.
Caravan-Center Messeparkplatz P1 | Düsseldorf
Mobile home and camper parking is available on the leveled lawn strips at the P1 parking. There are showers, toilets, and garbage facilities within the fenced area (which is accessible via a code lock). There are 3,500 parking spaces and 800 of those have electrical outlets available.
