If you’re from abroad, you already know the answer! Kids’ hair salons are designed to make haircuts a pleasant experience. They often have a child-friendly environment with toys, colorful decorations, and sometimes even TV screens playing cartoons. The hairstylists are experienced in dealing with children, ensuring they stay calm and comfortable throughout the haircut.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the case in Düsseldorf, which means you’re going to have to settle with having maybe a kid-friendly cape, kid-friendly staff, and possibly even a kid-friendly chair, aber… mehr gibts leider nicht.

Located in Wersten, A.S Ihr Wunschfriseur may look like a normal salon from the outside, but inside the beautiful space, you will also find a kid’s car (well actually a kid’s car) where the kids can sit for their haircut. While this sounds small, believe me, in Germany, this is a luxury that most other salons don’t offer. There are also tons of kids living in the area so they’re well experienced in kids cuts.

Friseur OHNE TERMINE Haircut Express
Similarly, Haircut Express is a normal salon for men, women, and children but does offer a children’s salon car/chair and can pop some cartoons on while your child is getting their haircut.

Hair Studio 82 is said to have a dedicated child’s chair (car) as well which means they’re quite equipped to handle a child’s favourite cut here in Flingern.

Mitra Hair Design is located in Flingern and although not designed with children in mind, their staff are very kind and kid-friendly.

In Pempelfort, you’ll find Haar Revolution which in addition to their cool kid-themed hair aprons, seems to have very child-friendly employees there too. Many expats in our Instagram community take their kiddos here too.

As I mentioned, it’s tough to find kid-friendly salons, but Yonca Cut, although from the outside doesn’t seem to be a salon for kids, many other internationals have highly recommended them for their great service with kids.

Liam’s Barber Shop
In Gerresheim, Liam’s Barbershop is known for being one of the more kid-friendly places to go.
Barbershop Paris
Another Flingern favourite according to our Instagram community is the Barbershop Paris. Again, it is not dedicated to children, but child-friendly at least.
Finding the best kids’ hair salon in Düsseldorf doesn’t have to be a daunting task, but you do have to be a bit more flexible than you’re perhaps used to. Other salons in the city are also kid-friendly but perhaps don’t offer any specific distractions or fun toys for kids.
