Electronic music thrives in Düsseldorf. Beyond the glitz of Königsallee and the luxury cars in Medienhafen, our city holds a hidden passion for this genre. Not widely known, Düsseldorf is actually the birthplace of modern electronic music, thanks to hometown legends Kraftwerk—it’s in our city’s DNA. You won’t find massive mega-clubs or dark, intimidating venues here. No bouncers like Berghain’s Sven, and no strict dress codes. Düsseldorf is all about laid-back vibes and intimate spaces (and some awesome electronic music festivals too).
The secret to finding the best parties here lies in knowing where to look—they’re often tucked away in unexpected places. Many of the top events are seasonal or irregular and held at different venues, so always be sure to check the promoter’s agenda.
But don’t worry, we’ve done most of the work for you.
Below is a list of all the best electronic music clubs and events in Düsseldorf, including top promoters and the coolest spots. See you on the dancefloor!

4 – Salon des Amateurs
Salon des Amateurs, or “salon”, as the locals like to call it, is a very different kind of clubbing experience. This small club is located inside the Kunsthalle exhibition hall for contemporary art and thus attracts a very artsy and alternative type of crowd. The entrance fee is low, drinks are relatively cheap and the people are nice. It’s a great place to just talk your way into the night with random strangers. The music, however, is quite experimental so don’t expect any peak-time techno here.
5 – Hawā
Ever partied at an airport? Now’s your chance. Hawā offers an exclusive series of boutique parties held at Düsseldorf Airport and Essen/Mülheim Airport during summer and on special occasions in winter. Hawā promises stunning scenic views amidst airplanes under the open sky. Following its recent years of huge success, the production team has introduced a new location: the exhilarating Hangar at Essen/Mülheim Airport, delivering a truly enchanting party experience. In winter, the festivities move indoors, but the magical vibes remain unchanged. Expect house, melodic techno, tech-house, and more.

This event features some of the most intriguing musical offerings in town, blending upbeat house, electro, and techno. Follow their Instagram page for the latest updates on the agenda.
12 – Rabiat
A well-known techno collective in town, hosting events across various locations. Expect a young crowd, deep dark beats, and a distinct atmosphere. Most of their events take place at the iconic Alter Schlachthof, with occasional open-air parties at different spots around the city.
13 – Glüh Dich Glücklich
Don’t let the winter blues get you down because in Germany, as the temperatures drop outside, the heat rises inside. This event is arguably the best pre-Christmas party in town. Held annually from November through early January at the Kasematten along the famous Rhine promenade, GDG is everyone’s favorite after-work spot. Here, you can savor delicious food, dance to catchy house and techno tunes, and of course, sip on their famous mulled wine. For those with stamina, the night continues with an official afterparty in the Altstadt. Some years, special parties pop up in selected locations around town, so be sure to stay updated.
