  • The 10 Absolute Best Local Döner Shops in Düsseldorf

Some call Pommes and Schnitzel or Pork Knuckle on a plate the dishes of Germany… I beg to differ. You haven’t really been to Germany until you’ve indulged in a beautifully packed Döner sandwich with a kiosk beer in hand!

Döner kebab is the perfect to-go snack at any point of the day. Whether you’re on your way home from work or have the late-night munchies, those Döner shops are always there for you!

Let me make a bold statement here… Döner is the ultimate “fast food” for Germans! Forget McDonald’s and Burger King.

So… I asked the locals and here’s what they decided were the 10 absolute best local Döner shops in Düsseldorf:

MY Gemüse Döner

My Gemüse Döner claimed their fame for having one of the first vegan and vegetarian Döner shops in Düsseldorf. While you’ll still be able to find your classic meat Döners, you can also get a wide selection of veggies and vegan sauces added to your Döner menu.

Address: Friedrichstraße 144, 40217 Düsseldorf, Germany

* Also available on Lieferando in Düsseldorf

Dene Gör

Dene Gör is a long-time favorite for many locals here in Düsseldorf. Don’t be surprised to find line ups down the road for one of the delicious Döner sandwiches or many other Turkish comfort foods you can find there!

Address: Graf-Adolf-Straße 58, 40210 Düsseldorf, Germany

Palace of Kebap

Palace of Kebap is known for its delicious chicken Döner and its Adana minced meat wraps here in Düsseldorf! They also have a nice little covered terrace where you can sit and enjoy your meal.

Address: Münsterstraße 106, 40476 Düsseldorf, Germany

Schlemmerecke

Schlemmerecke (and Schlemmerecke 2 on Duisburger Str.) are known for offering up big portions at a small price and still somehow manage to cook up some delicious and tender Döner for the perfect Döner sandwich.

Address: Erkrather Str. 169, 40233 Düsseldorf, Germany

* Also available on Lieferando in Düsseldorf

Alanya

Alanya is a favorite for many in Düsseldorf due to its friendly service and great food. Many argue it’s quite possibly THE best Döner in Düsseldorf because not only does the meal taste great, but the price is right, the staff is super sweet, and the portions are fantastic.

Address: Kalkumer Str. 12, 40468 Düsseldorf, Germany

* Also available on Lieferando in Düsseldorf

Alanya 2

Alanya 2 might have a similar name to Alayna, but don’t be confused – these are two very different locations – both with absolutely delicious menu options and of course, some of the best Döner in the city!

Address: Kölner Landstraße 203-213, 40591 Düsseldorf, Germany

Anadolu

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat before you head to the train station, Anadolu is the place to go. They have a huge selection of homemade specialties there (some locals even claim they make their Döner spits themselves).

Address: Konrad-Adenauer-Platz 13, 40210 Düsseldorf, Germany

Yede Gör

Yede Gör is another Düsseldorf classic. Many know this joint as the place to go after the party ends. Their portions are known to be quite massive and the small size of their shop makes their Döner the perfect pick-up and GO snack.

Address: Worringer Str. 104, 40210 Düsseldorf, Germany

Mangal Restaurant

Mangal takes a modern spin on Döner shops and is one of the newest Döner shops in Düsseldorf (their first restaurant opened in Köln). They offer a beautiful interior space for dining but are also a great to-go option too. They also have vegetarian Döner, which seems to be a big hit for the locals nowadays. But don’t get me wrong, you’ll also find some awesome meat options too!

Address: Nordstraße 94, 40477 Düsseldorf, Germany

Schloss Kebaphaus

Schloss Kebaphaus is located right across the street from Benrath’s beautiful pink castle and is known to have the best Döner in Benrath, and has also made it to our top 10 list for the best Döner in the whole of Düsseldorf too!

Address: Urdenbacher Allee 3, 40593 Düsseldorf, Germany

👋 Hey, I’m Jenna!

The voice behind Life in Düsseldorf

I’m a German Canadian who moved to Düsseldorf over a decade ago, and like many of you, I had a million questions when I arrived. From trying to figure out how health insurance works in Germany to wondering where the best bakery is (spoiler: it’s Bülle 🍞), I’ve been through it all.

So I created Life in Düsseldorf to help make your transition smoother — whether you’re moving to Germany, already living here, or just curious about life abroad. My mission? To make you feel a little less overwhelmed and a lot more at home.
