How do you identify a woman according to her taste in wine? It may seem insignificant, but it is not. Wine is part of our personality and shapes our character. Instead of “We are what we eat”, we should reformulate it saying “We are what we drink”.

Men are aware of it: women are complicated!

Even if it sounds weird to you, there are many “strategic” ways to interpret their behavior or way of being. Today, Giulia (local expat and wine fanatic) shares her expert tips on just how to do it. Plus, although there are many amazing wine bars around Düsseldorf, Guilia is going to tell you exactly which wine bar would suit your tastes!

So let’s figure out which wine bar in Düsseldorf fits your personality, shall we ladies?

Generally, there are three types of women:

The She-wolf | Red Wine

This type of woman is strong and goal-oriented. If she decides to prey on, she will do anything to get the selected quarry. She never asks, she just gets it. She knows what she is looking for in a man and if she does not like your behavior… Neext!

As you may imagine, she loves red wine which has tannin and which tastes of blood and leather. She loves Nebbiolo (an Italian wine variety which grows in Piedmont) or Tempranillo (from Spain).

Where to drink red wine in Düsseldorf: Rocaille Bar Bistro Winebar. Weißenburgstraße 19, 40476 Düsseldorf.

The Lamb | White Wine

This type of woman is quiet and peaceful. She likes having a routine and enjoying the little things. It is impossible to argue with her, she is diplomatic and tries to see things from different perspectives.

That is why she likes wines as smooth and relaxed as she is. She prefers white wine, tasting of fruit (apricot and peach) like Riesling, a wine typical of this area.

Where to drink it in Düsseldorf: The Oak´s bar. Hunsrückenstraße 14, 40213 Düsseldorf.

The Cat | Sparkling Wine

This type of woman is active and tireless. She loves meeting new people, having many hobbies, and doing lots of sport. She is a hurricane, literally. Her idea of shopping is checking out the next local sporting goods shop around the corner.

Her behavior is sparkling as much as the wine she prefers the most: Champagne.

Where to drink it in Düsseldorf: Weinlokal Galerie am Karlplatz. Benrather Str. 6B, 40213 Düsseldorf.

Ladies, if you have enjoyed reading this article, just send it to your man and have him guess which category you fall in to. If he wins, wonderful! …if not, well… I guess he will have to buy you an extra bottle.

Remember, Wine is to taste, not to waste!

Yours sincerely,

Giulia
