It’s no secret that the Rheinpark Golzheim is one of the best locations to be in the city when the weather is nice. You can kick back, relax and enjoy a good sunset, people watch and/or spot the boats motoring by along the Rhine. The park spreads across 24-hectares which makes it a suitable place for just about everything – football, frisbee, cartwheels, tanning and evening BBQing.
Grilling is actually officially banned in the Rheinpark Golzheim (along with other parks like Südpark and Volksgarten) but is often tolerated as long as people are respecting the environment. What does that mean?
- Do not damage the grass or turf beneath your grill
- Dispose of your rubbish and your burned charcoal/wood!
- Leave the patch of grass you claimed for the day in better condition than when you arrived
It’s easy! So, be smart and there’s no reason why we all can’t enjoy some relaxation along the Rhine River together. When I say together, I mean thousands of us… so make sure you arrive early to claim a spot on the grass if you’re hoping to enjoy some outdoor time during a weekend, holiday or simply on an evening after work when the weather is perfect.
Since BBQing at the Rheinpark is actually banned, we will not be held liable for encouraging you to visit. Please grill at your own discretion. Alternatively, if you’d like to visit a park that is open and legal to grill at (during specified grill dates) you can check out any one of the three:
